Our lovely historic home was just given a facelift inside and out. A fresh coat of crisp white paint on the exterior and a brand new kitchen, den, and pantry with a new open concept floor plan on the interior.

We added over 400 square feet of brand new kitchen and open floor plan living space. We now have two refrigerators, a 36″ professional gas range, two ultra quiet dishwashers, three large sinks with disposals, and a separate kitchen pantry area for your entertaining convenience. The rear portion of this wonderful historic home has been newly constructed and a large and modernized living space awaits.

You simply will not forget your vacation at the Magnolia Porch! You can practically live on the enormous wrap around covered porch which has 1260 square feet of eating, playing, and relaxing spaces for everyone in your group! Seven large bedrooms and 3 full and two half baths plus two outdoor showers with private changing rooms!

Our open floor plan kitchen space is updated in every way. We also renovated an upstairs bath (added tile and a large shower with glass surround) and added a new powder room on the first floor for a total of 5 showers (3 inside and 2 outside), a bathtub, and 5 toilets.

Sleeps 16 very comfortably—no squeezing into cramped ‘double beds’ or sleeping in the living room or sun porch in this spacious comfortable home. ‘Room for 16’ means that every one of the 16 people in your party has their own comfortable bed, in a designated bedroom space, with a door that closes! Our beds are either King or Queen or standard sized Singles. We don’t believe in overcrowding the home or making some folks sleep on uncomfortable sofa-beds or roll-away cots while they’re on vacation.

Our beautifully landscaped yard includes gardens, a new gas grill, two bike racks, two picnic tables and lounging chairs. Our private backyard is big enough for a friendly game of touch football or a spirited frisbee toss….yes, we have the biggest lawn on the block (!) so make sure you bring the games!

After a day of playing on the world famous white sand beaches of Cape May, return to enjoy this home’s expansive living spaces. Enjoy rocking your cares away on one of our 10 big wooden rockers or sip a cocktail while enjoying the gentle breezes and listening to the waves on the beach which are only one short block away. Kick off your flip-flops and swing on our vintage double porch swing or laze the day away on the extra wide rope hammock perfectly positioned with an ocean peek just for you. There are also three eating tables with chairs and two servers on this magnificent tree-lined porch as well as several other quiet spaces for sipping coffee while you enjoy the morning sun spilling through the magnolias.

Take a stroll on Cape May’s scenic beachside promenade…..or take a run if you’re up to it. It’s only a block away. Park your car for the week and forget about it….in fact, park 4 additional cars because there’s room for everyone in our private driveway. (Free street parking on our block too!) Absolutely everything you could want is only a short walk away. Fabulous shopping and Zagat rated restaurants, water sports, fishing, biking, it’s all here waiting for you.

This home has a rich history with every modern amenity. No stuffy Victorian furniture or crazy old flowered wallpaper to contend with….just clean, well appointed, and spacious rooms. Five clean modernized baths (three with showers) as well as two outside showers, each with its own private changing room, await your group. New high-efficiency full-sized washer and dryer for your convenience. Two zone air-conditioning and forced hot air heating systems to keep you comfortable year round. Two state-of-the-art tankless on-demand hot water systems provide limitless warm showers for your group. Never run out of hot water here at the Magnolia Porch!

Our large sunny kitchen includes granite countertops throughout; a prep island with sink and three counter stools; all new appliances including a 36 inch Professional KitchenAid stainless convection gas range; 2 full sized stainless steel refrigerators (both equipped with ice makers); two ultra quiet Bosch dishwashers; and three stainless steel sinks — all with garbage disposals. Almost 50 cubic feet of refrigeration space is sure to hold all of the provisions for your group. You will want for nothing in this massive, state of the art kitchen addition with adjoining breakfast/den area and a separate pantry that is actually a second (!) kitchen.

After a day of sightseeing or shopping, you’ll enjoy relaxing in this home’s expansive living spaces. Enter the large foyer through the welcoming Dutch door and enjoy this entertaining area which is fully equipped with bar glasses, ice bucket, and serving pieces. A large adjoining living room with big comfortable wraparound sofas and a game table welcome you along with a fireplace original to the home. Lots of seating here in this beautiful room which is appointed with lots of books, many DVDs, and a 55-inch high definition Smart TV with upgraded cable package, and wireless internet….all for your enjoyment.

Beyond the living room is an expansive dining room with granite topped lighted buffet niche and seating for all at our 120″ table. Large double mahogany doors open onto the side porch from this wonderful room……cocktails anyone?

Just beyond the dining room is our pantry area. This is essentially a second kitchen since it is equipped with a full-size refrigerator, a stainless sink with garbage disposal, microwave, and even includes a second ultra quiet Bosch dishwasher. This unique space includes floating wooden shelves which have been created from the recycled timbers of old homes right here in Cape May. Custom lighting makes this a special place for your morning coffee or for setting up a wine & cheese or appetizer station. This pantry’s large wooden sideboard was created from recycled foundry pieces and can accommodate lots of platters for serving those special meals and for setting up a buffet since it’s only steps away from our beautiful dining room and is easily accessible from the porch.

Beyond the pantry is a den (perfect for TV viewing!) which can accommodate a separate gathering of sports fans or cartoon watchers. A new powder room has been added here for extra convenience. This beautiful sunny room includes another large 55-inch Smart TV and is the ideal place to begin your day connecting with family and friends and catching up on the news or checking your email. This lovely room is also equipped with a new stereo receiver with Bluetooth capabilities so you can play the radio or your own music through our Bose speakers.

Complimentary password protected internet connection is accessible throughout our home and on the porch. All TVs are new and include an upgraded Comcast cable package with sports channels.

Once you’re ready to retire, choose from among this home’s 7 large bedrooms; again, no squeezing into cots or uncomfortable sofa beds here! Three of our bedrooms are conveniently located on the first floor with access from a quiet hallway, away from the action. There are also two bathrooms down this hall…. only a few steps away from the bedrooms.

The three bedrooms on the first floor include:

Bedroom #1– King bed with high definition TV–this room is large enough to accommodate a baby crib;
Bedroom #2– Queen bed with high definition TV and an additional outside door for direct access to the porch;
Bedroom #3–Two twin beds and two beautiful oversized windows to catch those breezes.

The four bedrooms on the second floor have access to the two full baths on this level. None of our bathrooms are ensuite, so all guests have access. The second-floor bedrooms include:

Bedroom #4–One Queen and one single bed–this room has plenty of room to accommodate a baby crib in the room or in this room’s large closet (with window);
Bedroom #5–One King bed with high definition TV.
Bedroom #6–Three twin beds–this room also has an extra large closet with a window which could also fit a crib.
Bedroom #7–One Queen bed and only steps to the remodeled bathroom with oversized shower. This beautiful room also has direct access to the first floor via the back staircase.

Professional management company on call 24/7. Rental also includes cleaning by our professional cleaning staff between rentals.

Free use of our two large beach umbrellas. Use our beach wagon to get them to the beach each day.  (No sunburn!) We also provide the free use of our beach box for the week. No hauling your stuff to the beach daily.  Bring it all down once at the beginning of your stay and leave it there in our locked beach box all week long.
